Purcari Wineries expands into Vrancea
Purcari Wineries Public Company Limited (BVB: WINE), one of Central and Eastern Europe’s leading wine groups, announces that its Romanian subsidiary Crama Ceptura has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the share capital of CaraprodVin SRL, a wine producer located in Varstecoiu Commune, Vrancea County, Romania.
The transaction is subject to the fulfilment of standard legal and regulatory requirements. Closing is expected to occur following completion of all applicable procedures.
Transaction perimeter
The acquisition encompasses 100% of the shares of CaraprodVin SRL, including:
– A primary vinification platform and wine production facilities located in Varstecoiu Commune, Vrancea County
– 33.18 hectares of vineyards within the Vrancea wine region
Strategic rationale
Vrancea is Romania’s largest grape-producing wine region, known for its strong white grape varieties and distinct terroir. This acquisition marks Crama Ceptura’s first operational presence in the region, securing direct access to high-quality local grape supply and complementing the Group’s recent expansion in Dealu Mare.
Together, these steps reflect a deliberate effort to build a diversified, vertically integrated Romanian wine platform, anchored in two of the country’s most important appellations. Purcari Wineries intends to invest in the acquired facilities to develop a modern primary vinification platform, strengthening quality control from vineyard to cellar.
Victor Bostan, Founder and CEO Purcari Wineries
Vrancea is recognised as one of Romania’s most important grape-growing regions, particularly for its white grape varieties and the distinct character they express. Through this acquisition, we intend to invest in the local platform, build the right infrastructure for primary vinification, and grow alongside the region. Over time, we aim to become an important player in Vrancea and a trusted long-term partner for local grape growers.
